Recordist's notes

Here the river has long been canalised between banks reinforced by metal supports. The water is shallow but flow fast gently rippling and occasionally slapping the sides. Visually this a is a peaceful spot, but sound travels rather easily along the line of the valley so traffic noise is loud even though the road is some distance away.
