Recordist's notes
Last Sunday of December 2024. Eerie atmosphere at the northern bank of the river. A walk bin that area always provides a great sonic experience, especially when it comes to wildlife activity. In the first part of the recording, the gentle sound of overflowing water stands out. However, this is not a delicate whirr but rather a loud sound of the water flowing around a buoy on the other side of the river, many meters from the recorder. In this part you can also clearly hear the incessant hum of the Srem bypass road all over the rather not densely inhabited area. Within a 2km radius of this road, you can pick up a distinct noise coming from it and spilling over the area. Suddenly, about 3 minutes in of the recording, the frogs sound off and a complex, otherworldly soundscape of various birds begins, which continues for several minutes. (roland r-07)
