Recordist's notes

It was a beautiful, very warm, sunny day and from this riverside cafe terrace we watched sea lions basking on a wooden raft 10m away or playing in the water - very social and very noisy. This group are probably fed on fish scraps from the nearby fishing harbour to encourage them to stay. They are a real attraction and one of the restaurants is named the Sea Lion Dockside Bar. They roar, shout and splash around at each other amongst the boat motors, cafe music and people looking down taking photos.
