Recordist's notes
In the 1970s we used to like to spend time on the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon. My wife's grandmother had a little house right on the ocean. It was picturesque and timeless and the only excitement was the ever-present jigsaw puzzle on the table and the collection of classics on the bookshelf. The air down there always smelled of sea salt and ozone. At night, the only thing you could hear was the unceasing surf and the wall clock. It was, to put it mildly, relaxing. We got stuck there once, in May 1980 for about a week, when Mt. St. Helens blew up and I-5 was closed. We really didn't mind too much. Major elements: * Surf * Clock Excellent for sleeping.
