Recordist's notes

In Omdourman, Sudan, lies the tomb of the sufi holy man Sheikh Hamed an-Neel. Every friday the believers flock together to sing and dance themselves in trance and experience the nearness of Allah. These recordings were in 1987, the democrativc gays in the history of Sudan. I do not know what happened with the sufi's when the fanatics took over governement.
