Recordist's notes
We are with many people set for a celebratory dinner in a large hall. It’s the end-of-year thank-you-dinner for all the honorary helpers of the “Humanitas” project & shop. The Nigerian artist and musician Yemi Ojo and his son Leon set out to entertain the guests with some Yoruba music. Yemi explains that the song they are performing here is singing praises to God Almighty “O Yigi Yigi”, a Yoruba version of “Grosser God wir loben dich”, if you want… Yemi and the beat of the Yoruba praise song gets the listeners involved, dran in and finally, on their feet… Links: http://come-and-drum-with-me.npage.de http://www.humanitas-hamm.de/index.html
