Recordist's notes
We are with Yvonne Chipo Makopa and her little son Connor in the “Hallohpark” in Bockum-Hovel; the area where the park raises up steeply. The wind blows strongly through the old trees around the playground. Yvonne is a busy young woman, commuting every day to a neighbouring town for work and study, is married and has a four-year-old son and, still finds time getting into a lot of extra work as the Secretary of the local African club “Yes Afrika”. Yvonne is originally from Zimbabwe and came to Germany years back on a scholarship as an exchange student. Hear her “love song” to parks, and to her neighbourhood park in particular… for Yes Afrika e.V. see: http://yes-afrika.jimdo.com/
