Recordist's notes
An uplifting surprise. Unknown, but tuneful, phone chimes through an open window together with the heating system tone and even someone whistling briefly. Accidental ingredients for a Spaghetti Western soundtrack suddenly come together just outside my window. All enveloped in the quiet air blast of the heaters still in operation even though it's 27 degrees C. Am instantly reminded of Ennio Morricone and the chimes in the shootout scenes for 'A Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'. His was one of two musical deaths that have touched me greatly in the last days. The other was Peter Green. All my thanks and best wishes to both of them.
