Recordist's notes

Although very sunny in this period the weather stayed cold and today it even snowed gently for a short time. The flakes immediately melted on touching the roof and the water dripped rhythmically down the building knocking into the metal window sills on the way. This is the main sound. The building was partially renovated two years ago and all the stone sills were covered with galvanised zinc. It's made quite difference to the soundscape of the Hinterhof when it rains (or snows). The continuous tone is made by the heating system and is the local soundmark that plays often but quite unpredictably.
