Recordist's notes

On the way back from Drayton and Sutton Courtenay where I had been recording the sound of football not happening on the recreation grounds that are home to Drayton FC and Sutton Courtenay FC respectively we needed to cross the railway line. My sons were too enthusiastic with the buzzer and so received a reprimand via a telephone call on the direct line to the Abingdon signalbox. An interesting feature of this recording is the light aircraft. This is a signature sound of the Oxfordshire soundscape pre-covid but something that came as a surprise in the present circumstances.
