Recordist's notes

This is the fourth and final recording made during the North Berks League Division Two match between Sutton Courtenay and Westminster. During the development of Get Rid! a project exploring the sounding cultures of grassroots football in Oxfordshire I have been looking for the boundary of encounter. The point at which we become aware of the sounding presence of a football match. This particular site was close to that boundary as the voices of the players, officials and coaches become part of the evening soundscape rising above and then sinking below the threshold of audibility. This recording was made with an Edirol R-09HR.
