Recordist's notes
This recording was made during a boat tour with Barba-Giannis, an extraordinary local guide who has been navigating and sharing the lake for over 40 years. Though past retirement age, his deep, instinctive knowledge of the ecosystem was remarkable—he eloquently described every seasonal transition the lake undergoes and how it shapes the lives of all its creatures. What resonated most with me during this journey were the stunning water lilies adrift on the lake’s surface. Record by: Alexandros Hadjitimotheou
