Recordist's notes
the city, the country & me: july 20, 2008 As a church of the “Minder” brothers order the building probably dates from the 13th century. The building is built in the gothic style of the late middle ages. It’s the style where most of the mendicant orders built their churches in. Since the 17th century most of the monastery buildings surrounding the church are disappeared. Until 1960 the church was in use by the Dutch reformed community of Bolsward. After the fire in 1980 only a ruin is left. The church ruins are preserved and waiting for future plans. The church is open for visitors. (Clarence J. Cnossen; Joure, 10-01-2004)
