Recordist's notes
The Boscombe Pier Music Trail continues with these lovely chimes, suspended in a way that means each aluminium cylinder can resonate freely and for a long time. The chimes were exactly in line with the place where the waves were breaking on the beach below, and so the sound of the sea is strongest here. Such a lovely thing to be able to go and find and play these pretty sounds against the sighing waves - how many countless happy hours of unrecorded sonic play have happened in this place?
