Recordist's notes

An unexpected and incongruous situation - quiet contemplative classical music playing from a small garden of potted plants, little white fences around stone swans and other animals into a very traffic heavy street. Mostly the music is barely audible and one wonders why it is there at all. But it fits with the upmarket integrative medicine concept of the practice at this location. It was suggested as a favourite Braunschweig sound by someone who stands at the adjacent bus stop on the journey to work in the morning and hears it every day. The music is the Concerto for Harp and Orchestra played by Marielle Nordmann, her arrangement of Viotti's 19th violin concerto, from the CD Romantic Harp Concertos (Sony 1995).
