Cologne, Nippes, Parade of Marching Bands of Gun Cubs

A surreal scenario unfolded under my window when I came back from Paris: a parade of marching bands of local gun clubs paraded through the streets (a funny contrast to the french experience giving the impression that, while French ALWAYS sit in bars et dans les Brasseries or make love during the day, Germans put on anachronsitic uniforms and march to military music) - without any audience aside the road! The groups nevertheless marched strictly in order, carrying their flags, wearing their uniforms and medals as if it was of a real purpose or importance.
