Recordist's notes
a crab apple tree an isolated remnant of what once must have been a rich, diverse hedgerow, pruned hard into an odd L-shape against the chain link fence of the Research Station. This warm sunny day in April it is densely covered in thick pale pink blossom and swarming with bees of every shape and size; a stark and curious contrast with the silent monocrop that it sits adjacent to. Wren and Chiffchaff. Rusty, abandoned sugarbeet harvester shaken by the wind. The all pervasive background hum of the Research Station. https://sophiestandford.com/
