Recordist's notes
Recorded outside on the balcony of a cabin on Deck 5 enroute to New York. The QM2 tests her whistles and fog signals at noon every day followed here by a distant version of passenger information over the communication system in the interior of the ship. The fog signals are at the bow and the main whistle on the funnel nine decks above. The Atlantic passing at 24 knots is the background sound. MixPre 3 with 2 x Beyer Lavaliers.
Context
Equipment mentioned: Sound Devices recorders. Professional location recorders (702, 722, MixPre series) with very quiet preamps.
