Recordist's notes
The Nightingale season has started again in Berlin. This one is singing beside the rail tracks. It is hardly mentioned but a significant (to me) change is happening to the city's soundscape. The S-Bahn is introducing new rolling stock and the musical glissandos of the old S-Bahn trains - one of my favourite Berlin sounds - are rapidly disappearing. The new sounds (heard here) are far less appealing. Really a pity.
