Recordist's notes
The hydrophones made by Jez Riley French are slightly buoyant which is often a good thing, but less so when trying to record in forceful waters which tend to drag them around quite a lot. To solve this problem and also to be able to hear the sea turning the sand about on its bed, I buried my hydrophones in the sand and listened to the tide working above them. Recorded with hydrophones made by Jez Riley French and FOSTEX FR-2LE.
Context
Equipment mentioned: Hydrophones. Underwater microphones used for whales, fish, ice and the hidden sounds of rivers and ponds.
