Recordist's notes
This recording features the sound of an open peat fire burning in a traditional croft house, at The Croft House Museum. Thanks to Laurie from the Shetland Museum and Archives for building the peat fire for me, and for explaining the importance of the open peat fire as a sound in historic Shetland domestic soundscapes. Recorded with Naiant X-X microphones suspended near the fire.
