Recordist's notes
We are meeting the veteran broadcaster, 85-year-old Mavis Moyo in her home. The windows to the garden are all open. The fresh breeze is playing with the curtains, and the palm-trees outside… somewhere in the kitchen a tap is dripping… Mavis takes us through her story as a rural woman entering broadcasting profession. Her passion for the development of rural women made her the driving force of the Development Through Radio project in the 1980s; and this is what she describes for us here… Mavis Moyo, veteran broadcaster with ZBC Radio 4, founding member of Federation of African Media Women Zimbabwe (FAMWZ). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mavis_Moyo From: http://both-sides-of-the-zambezi.tumblr.com/
