Meramec River Jon Boat

It is to be expected that if you float an Ozark stream in the summer on the weekend you will have no peace. Sunday is family day on the rivers and things are a bit tamer. In this recording you can hear a jon boat slow down for a family with small children strewn across the river on giant inflatable pool toy animals. It then speeds up passing me though I have knowingly stopped my packraft on a sandbar. This is all followed by a pickup truck overtaking a car on the two lane highway above the river. Note shouts of appreciation for the boat’s wake and the aggressive driving.
