Recordist's notes
Trams wheels slowly negotiating this tight curve often moan, squeal or screech as they rumble round. It depends on their speed, the weather and temperature and the type of tram. Older one seem more likely to make these sounds but sometime the new one also. This sound can be heard some distance away, from up the nearby hillside for example and is a sonic feature of the area.
