Recordist's notes
A nocturnal recording captured from an open first-floor window overlooking a dark garden in Kilburn during an exceptionally hot June night. The soundscape is dominated by the proximity of foxes, featuring their characteristic, ghostly barks and screams echoing in the dead, windless air. In the foreground, directly beneath the window, the recording unexpectedly captures the delicate, rhythmic lapping sound of a fox drinking water from an unseen source near plant pots. Recorded with a bare portable recorder pointed down into the garden.
