Recordist's notes
This recording was taken using a Zoom H4N Pro. It was recorded at North Wood part of the Forestry England Haldon Forest but this area is seldom visited although there is an occasional pheasant shoot here. Insects can be heard on the brambles and scrubby edges of the forest tracks and birds including a raven in the distance, can be heard. This recording is part of a series of recordings that will be taken across the landscape, Devon Wildland, to highlight the soundscape that wildlife experience and highlight any potential soundscape barriers that may effect connectivity for wildlife.
