Recordist's notes

Ambient sound captured in the ambulatory at the east end of the abbey. I chose this spot to minimise the sound from a large iron gas heater that is rumbling in the background and to take advantage of the reflected sounds that accumulate at this point. I used a MicPre 6 II with 2 Sennheiser MKH 8020s in a rucksack on the floor. On the 4th May 1471 the battle of Tewkesbury was so intense in this area it was necessary to reconsecrate the abbey.
