Recordist's notes
Men are passing the borehole too; hanging on for a little chat…. I don’t make any further recordings on our way back to Thembi’s homestead since a heavy metal bucket full of water needs to be balanced on my head… My deep admiration to all those many women who do this work day after day for their families… and with much love and laughter in the face of heavy work or adversity…! Thembi Ngwabi is a dancer, actress and former bass guitarist with the all-women-band “Amakhosigasi”, she is heading the Amakhosi Performing Arts Academy APAA. http://www.amakhosiculturalcenter.com/academy/ The Interview with Thembi Ngwabi from 29 Oct. 2012 can be found at : http://archive.org/details/Voices_from_Bulawayo_598 From: http://both-sides-of-the-zambezi.tumblr.com/
