Recordist's notes

We are sitting with Thembi in the shade of her new home, while a merciless midday-sun is burning over the quiet Lupane bush-land… our brief recording is a follow up on a longer interview, we recorded almost exactly a year ago, 29 Oct 2012, when Thembi was still based at Amakhosi Cultural Centre. “I like to develop something from nothing…” she tells us looking at her present homestead and the work she imagines to do here. She wants to continue sharing her skills and knowledge of the African dances with the women and children in this rural district of Zimbabwe, beginning with the pupils in local Primary Schools. Her aim is to set up a cultural centre here in the bush of Lupane… The recordings are archived at: https://archive.org/details/Voices_from_Lupane
