Recordist's notes
We have recently been redecorating our dining room to make more space for our work things and to make it a calmer colour. I wanted us to put up a lot of shelves and the only way to mount the batons is to drill through the old plaster into the brick walls; the bricks are very strong and so we need to use the hammer drill to get into them. In this recording you can hear Mark and then me doing stints of drilling, getting up and down off the ladder, and picking screws and rawlplugs off the mantelpiece. In the background, our washing machine is churning away. A very productive morning.
