Recordist's notes

As we were returning to our car after the day's walk, we came between some lambs and their ewes. In May Shetland is covered in new lambs and all over the place you can hear the mums and their babies calling to one another. It's an ongoing call and response, as lambs or their mums wander off to a nicer patch of grass and then worry when they can't find each other. I tucked my recorder down in a ditch near where the lambs and ewes were calling to one another, then backed away so as not to be in the way of their reunion. Just my R07 tucked in a ditch. I'm not sure I like the sound as much as the old Edirol R09 but at least it's not as hissy - at least not to my ears.
