Recordist's notes
Over the 10 years that I've been visiting Vogelsang has been slowly demolished and now (June 2025) only a few buildings remain. Demolition creates a mountain of rubble, which is crushed into smaller pieces for transport as is happening here. The machine is not so close and the sound reverberates through the trees, spreading its presence. Forest life goes on nevertheless. A chaffinch sings in the distance and then slightly nearer. My own steps are occasionally audible.
