Recordist's notes
This was recorded outside Jamieson & Smith, towards the end of the working day, as bales of graded wool were being loaded into a lorry ready to be driven South to Bradford, and scoured at Curtis Wool. You can hear some banter between Oliver Henry and co-workers as they load and secure the bales into the lorry. Sandra Mason - who works at J&S and is a legendarily talented knitter and designer - is leaving work, and we greet each other briefly in this recording. (Sandra Manson is the genius behind the beautiful lace christening robe recently presented to HRH The Prince of Wales.)
