Recordist's notes
An antique Olympia music box plays the ragtime tune, Smokey Mokes Cake-Walk and Two-Step (1899) by Abe Holzmann. Occasional hand-cranking by head staffer Bea Ramsey. After she lets the disc work its way to the start of the melody, it plays two and a half times. Recorded in the Hodgden House, a former residence, now part of the museum complex. Stereo mics (Audiotalaia-Primo ECM 172), recorded via Olympus LS-10.
