Recordist's notes
This recording was made with an H2n placed on the railing of a platform overlooking the tailrace of Sir Adam Beck II (SAB II) Generating Station in Niagara Falls, Ontario. We hear the hum of SAB II, the spill of water returned from the station to the Lower Niagara River, and the cry of gulls. SAB I and II have a combined generating capacity of about 2,123 megawatts – enough to power more than one million homes each year. The Niagara River Corridor is an Important Bird and Bird Diversity Area (IBA) frequented by at least 18 gull species. With thanks to Ontario Power Generation.
