Recordist's notes
This is the alarm call of an angry robin in the area. He is very angry because our cat, Joey, caught his chicks earlier this spring. Joey has very little skill as a hunter but this Robin and its partner built their nest in a highly accessible place in the hedge, very low to the ground. It is not easy to be both a bird-lover and a cat-lover, and we have been reminded of this all summer long, because whenever the cat is in the garden, the Robin produces these urgent alarm-calls. On behalf of our cat we really apologise to the Robins.
