Recordist's notes

This is the sound of the Town Hall Clock striking six. I was walking home after a day of recording in Oxford, and I noticed that there was a little time to set up microphones ahead of the hour striking. I attached two omni-directional microphones to a bicycle frame with velcro, and settled in to listen to my town. This area is pedestrianised, but there is a fairly large bus route passing through to the side of it... so you can hear the buses and taxis, but lots of lovely bikes as well, and people walking, and the festive feeling and laughter at the end of the working day in the town, in summer.
