The River Schunter nature restoration area: my first cuckoo, springtime birds, the ever present autobahn

One of Braunschweig natural environment restoration projects along the meandering River Schunter. It is an interesting mix of industrial sites, open wetland, small woodlands and residential areas. High pylons march across the expanse. On this still cold, grey morning blackbirds, a blackcap, chiffchaff and great tit were singing well and in the distance my first cuckoo of the year' cuckoos'. As always in Braunschweig autobahn traffic creates the constant background.
