Recordist's notes

At Picnic Point in north Edmonds, there's a pedestrian walkway to the beach over the tracks that run along the waterfront, but there's no at-grade vehicle crossing, so the trains don't have to slow down or even blow their whistles as they zoom past. This short, short freight train -- about a dozen cars -- can be heard blowing its horn a couple miles down the tracks at the nearest grade crossing, and then nothing -- until suddenly it bursts around the corner, wheels singing at full volume as the tracks curve sharply around the point. Just as suddenly the train has passed, and gently recedes into the distance. See also: https://anode1.bandcamp.com/track/train-1-picnic-point
