Summer reaches its peak and the voices of countless species of orthopterans (grasshoppers, crickets) become the dominant element of the sound ecology of most places (or at least those with tall grass). Here is a small sample of this insect music from a summer evening under Prague's White Mountain. Recorded on July 8, 2023 at around seven o'clock.
