Recordist's notes

The last line of defense in an ecological nightmare scenario in the making. This site along the Illinois Canal, between an oil refinery and a coal pile, is the US Army Corps of Engineers latest, experimental attempt to keep the invasive Asian Carp from migrating past Chicago and into Lake Michigan. The water just north of this bridge is charged using sunken electrodes, thus discouraging the asian carp (and most other fish) from swimming further north, towards the city of Chicago and, eventually, invading the Great Lakes beyond. Natural echo enhanced by bridge acoustics.
