Recordist's notes
This is the sound of me and Diana carding wool using teasels. In this recording we are sitting by the fireside in a non-centrally heated house, as people have done for thousands of years, using teasels to card (or organise) some raw wool fibres. I think we were using Herdwick fibres for this activity; you can hear the scratchy tines of the teasels, but also the grip and sturdiness of the Herdwick fibres. Of course you can also hear the low steady comforting drone of the fire, also.
