Recordist's notes
Walking around Edinburgh I noticed the partciular sound produced by vehicles driving over the cobblestones, and the noise of the rubber on the tyres. I stopped to record this sound, and towards the end of the recording, very nicely, a clock in a house on the corner struck 12. It is very faint, but I love that now I know - through listening - that the household on the corner has a beautiful clock that sometimes makes a duet with the traffic sounding on the cobblestones.
