Recordist's notes

unattended overnight recording of choughs nesting in Kilchoman Church, Islay. You can hear the wing beats, calls and footsteps as they go about their domestic business. I used Roland CS 10EM as a spaced pair to an Olympus LS-5. This is a short clip from the whole recording. No editing except extraction and fade out. May 30, 2018 Since first posting this I have changed the recording title on the advice of a knowledgeable friend, Simon Elliott of the WSRS who says this is "a chough calling in the background (possibly juvenile, although young jackdaws can sound surprisingly choughy and I've been caught out before on Colonsay). I suspect that all the near-field stuff - definitely the calls, but also wings and footfalls are from jackdaw."
