Recordist's notes
We were walking along the beach and up Boulevard de Bacon, and I became aware that wherever there were trees, there was this incredible drone of what I think must be cicadas. It's an incredibly loud sound, a wash of white noise emanating all along the coast, from wherever there are trees. As we walked along the road, we became aware of one single cicada song standing out from all of the rest and I sat down to listen to and record the song with my trusty EDIROL R-09.
