Waiting for the bags to turn up on the carousel, I found myself listening to how quiet the space was, comparatively. Folk waited patiently, a bit bored, listless in the heat, and the carousel didn't have any of the normal shrieks, squeaks, or bangs, but purred quite quietly along, bringing people their luggage in a leisurely way.
