Recordist's notes

This recording was made sitting a small distance from the closed-off site wherein the old pink Gillette factory building is currently being demolished. You can hear the busy traffic on the Basingstoke Road, the dry leaves scuttling over the tarmac, and the huge lorry and machinery within the building site moving around. The big bangs are the sounds of large pieces of the building going into the truck to be taken for recycling or landfill. The lorry reverses towards the end of the recording. The levels are very low because the sounds of destruction were super loud. Every time bits of wall were dropped into the skip, the ground shook.
