Recordist's notes
The early morning sun gives way to grey cloud and winds that constantly flutter the oak leaves both close to the mics and high above, giving a sonic impression of the tree's size. A train horn sounds. The bird scarers continue. They seem to be effective. I've not seen any birds feeding on this field, but maybe none are interested. There is only a limited selection of wildlife in this immediate vicinity. The consequence of decades of intensive agriculture, including the removal of most hedgerows.
