Recordist's notes

There is a wooden bridge crossing a small tributary that feeds into the River Kennet. The bridge and the path beside the water are pedestrianised but as this area's not far from the IDR, you can hear the rumble of traffic from the ring road. However, you can also hear the waterfowl on the river, and the different bicycles, shoes and voices of the folk who use the bridge. Recorded of an evening when it was quite sunny and convivial in town, using the onboard mics on Edirol R-09. I love the variety of different bicycle sounds and shoes, and the way the bridge booms whenever anyone rides over it and the mix of accents and voices in our town.
