Recordist's notes
A sound walk across the shingle on a beautiful sunny day to The Scallop, a sculpture by Maggi Hambling, then on to the waters edge where the recorder is placed on a ridge of shingle about 2 metres from the waves, a return to The Scallop and voices of children, finally leaving across the shingle again. There are noises of friction against the mics and some wind which I have left in as they are part of the event. My home-made windscreen does a good job on most of the gusts. I am still experimenting with some low cut below 80hz and very slight limiting, max 2db, which works in my opinion. 32bit x 48kz, MixPre 6 II with 2 Sennheiser MKH 8020s in my home made portable rucksack recording rig. The home made windscreens have been mistaken for a dog stuffed into a bag 4 times so far :)
